DreamPusha’s Story Of His Latest Two Albums

The MasterMind album was a journey in the sense of I didn't want to conform to industry rules as far as my creativity It was a project that I was very selective on the songs and telling the story. There is some very good songs that didn't make the cut only because they didn't fit the creative eye that I was going for and also some of the artists that I wanted to work with weren't available to finish certain songs so they'll remain in a vault.

It would be days where I'd be writing and may have experienced something or had a conversation with somebody that sparked the idea for a song and then I would run with it go in the studio after work and work with some beats that would fit the mold of the song.

So over a 2-year process right after I did my first album on bandlab I went back and started on the mastermind project.

As I was working on the mastermind project I was working on a series similar to the movie of fifty Shades of Gray I was working on a project that was more geared towards the grown and sexy adult so I did fifty Shades of Khan and it was going to be a second part automatically which is the second album I released after the mastermind project entitled fifty Shades of Pleasure and the theme of that album has always been to explore taboo saying things that people won't say especially on the radio or in songs in general like I really push the envelope because my theory and my mind is women are allowed to be sexy in songs and say whatever and it sells compared to when a guy says it and all guys think these things is considered raunchy or I can't believe he said that but it's the stuff that women be wanting men to do especially in the bedroom scene and having experiences and conversations with people male and female you get the senses of what's needed to be said.

DreamPusha - 50 Shades Of Pleasure

So I made sure that every song told a story once again and that it walks you through a modern-day love story between two people like the guy can't stop thinking about the woman the woman has a passionate desire for the man and the curveball and the album which is a song called The breakup has that feel that there was tension somewhere in the air between the couple but that leaves an open end for the third project similar to the movie.

So I really view music in the art of storytelling and one of my things with music is people always talking about capping but let's really break that definition down when 98% of the industry is based off perspective when you look at the back or isn't stories of a lot of these rappers they're straight a students graduated from college business majors but they play the role of a gangster Rick Ross for instance a correctional officer at a prison but yet he's a boss now as many of these other artists that have talent but switch their persona to be sold and media so their image is an art of storytelling they go from clean-shaven no tattoos to beards braids and a walking mural to express the art inside of them.

So in music people explore the boundaries of their imagination and the song makes you feel good that's the bottom line because when you're writing a love song a person might not be in a relationship they might not even be having sex but they're writing a love song so that other people can use that in their bag of tricks per day to get some so does that mean that the artist is capping because he's not having sex everyday or has a woman or a man in a relationship at that moment no he's expressing himself.

So the journey of me and music right now is an ongoing thing as many times where I get disgruntled because you feel like nobody's listening and it's always at one person that likes your songs or it's that one person that keeps pushing you and it keeps the battery going so I've been doing music even after these projects dropped collaborations and writing for people doing beats for people and challenge myself to go into other genres like I recently did a pop song and I'm working on some reggae stuff I've done some rock songs so my mind is ongoing I don't think there's a day where I don't have a melody in my head or some wordplay going on because I heard a conversation and somebody said something or heard a rhythm coming from somewhere that inspires me to write another song and it feels like you can never run out of things to say because there's so much that goes on in the world around you if you're really paying attention like there's more to me than just the trap and trying to survive the struggle of the hood .
